CALL TODAY ON (07) 5523 3292 | What is Far Infra Red FIR heat produces heat waves that vibrate the ion bonds of the atoms holding molecules of water together. | As the agitation continues, breakdown of the water molecules occurs, and encapsulated toxins are released and perspired out of the body via the skin – the human body’s most direct and largest excretory system. All humans send and receive FIR waves. The vibration causes a release of cellular toxins such as mercury, aluminium, cholesterol and other toxic gasses. We are constantly being assaulted by toxins in the air and water, in our food and medications, and even in our dental work. High levels of toxicity in the body can contribute to chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, ADHA and colitis, among other ailments. A detoxification regimen can help to combat this extra stress placed on the body, strengthen the immune system and support the proper functioning of the body’s biochemical processes. Health Benefits of Far Infra Red Heat Therapy
Detoxification Weight loss Muscle and Pain Relief Increased Circulation Lowered Blood Pressure Fibromyalgia Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Relaxation Mild Depression How does far infrared help you detox?
The human body is a bio accumulator. This means that toxins within it that cannot be immediately expelled are stored within the cells. These toxins accumulate and can block circulation and cellular energy – often resulting in pain and disease. When the body’s toxin-containing water molecules are exposed to a particular frequency of infrared light, called far-infrared (which vibrates at the same frequency as water molecules), the water begins to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds of the atoms binding the water molecules and as the water molecule breaks down, cellular toxins like mercury, aluminium, cholesterol and toxic gases such as sulfur and formaldehyde, are released. Alcohol and nicotine are also purged from the body.
Far infrared light stimulates the circulatory system, causing the heart to beat more vigorously and blood vessels to dilate, which helps cleanse the circulatory system and more fully oxygenate the body’s cells. In turn, better blood circulation means that more toxins flow to the skin’s surface cleansing the pores.
Light of this wavelength also stimulates the lymph system which helps reduce swelling associated with chronic pain. Finally, far infrared light stimulates the cardiovascular system, helping improve vascular endothelial function and ventricular arrhythmias, and protecting against oxidative stress. The dry penetrating heat far infrared bathing produces is akin to the heat of fever and, as one author puts it “urges every organ of the body into action. While outwardly relaxed your inner organs are as active as though you were jogging or mowing the lawn. At the same time, you are being cleansed from inside out by the skin, your body’s largest organ and its excretion, sweat”.
Sweat also has the function of being a judicious garbage collector . During a 15 minute sauna, sweating can perform the heavy metal excretion that would take the kidneys 24 working hours. Ninety nine percent of what sweat brings to the surface of the skin is water, but the remaining one percent is mostly undesirable wastes. A metabolic bi product, urea, if not disposed of regularly, can cause headaches, nausea and in extreme cases, vomiting. Sweat also draws out lactic acid, which causes stiff muscles and contributes to general fatigue. Sweat flushes out toxic metals such as copper, lead, zinc and mercury which the body absorbs in polluted environments.
Far Infra Red Heat Therapy and Weight Management
Besides being an excellent way to relax your muscles and your mind, saunas and steam baths are a good way to flush pesticides out of your system that could be contributing to weight or health problems. Saunas are an important aid to weight loss as well as optimal thyroid function because as you lose weight fat tissue releases stored toxins like PCBs and pesticides. These toxins lower levels of T3 (trIiodothyronine), consequently slowing your resting metabolic rate and inhibiting your fat burning ability. Therefore, detoxing is an important part of improving your thyroid function. If you don’t, your ability to lose weight decreases as you lose weight because of the negative effects of the released toxins during weight loss on thyroid function. The passive cardiovascular condition of FIR heat therapy increases heart rate, metabolism and caloric burn. It is documented that FIR heat lowers blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels and that during one thirty minute FIR sauna treatment, blood flow doubles and up to 300 calories are expended.
Far Infra Red Heat Therapy and Injuries. When you’re injured healing can take days (a pulled muscle) to months (a torn muscle or ligament). You can visit your doctor for assistance in relieving the pain and inflammation. You may also have to undergo physical therapy, or even surgery. But sometimes a more natural way of healing may be preferable. Doctors and scientists have discovered that radiant heat is one of the best treatments to use for sprains, strains, muscle spasms, and other injuries associated with sports. Radiant heat, also called far infrared heat, works by penetrating joints, muscles and tissues, speeding oxygen flow and increasing circulation. It relieves tension and relaxes muscles, reducing soreness on nerve endings and in muscle spasms, thus helping the body to heal itself. It increases blood flow to the muscles, delivering more concentrated oxygen, which creates more energy to heal. In addition to increased blood flow and oxygen rich energy, infrared takes metabolic debris and waste out of a sore or injured muscle and detoxifies the area. Athletes can improve their performance by at least 5% by using infrared light to detoxify because detoxification increases energy production. By using wavelengths to penetrate the body, profound therapeutic benefits can be achieved.
Far Infra Red Heat Therapy and Pain Management Heat has been shown to reduce pain sensation by direct action on both free nerve endings in tissue and on peripheral nerves. Studies show that FIR heat therapy is an effective treatment for chronic pain, arthritis and fibromyalgia, and that it assists in the treatment of rheumatoid joint conditions, spinal cord shock, muscle spasms, sports injuries and repetitive stress syndromes.
Skin Purification Heat therapy increases blood flow throughout the body and to the skin. The FIR treatment offers a head to toe skin treatment – opening pores and allowing blockages to clears everywhere on the body. Increased skin purification can greatly assist in the treatment of conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and scarring. In fact, studies have shown that FIR sauna use can assist with reduction of cellulite, acne and fine wrinkles after consistent use over time.
Stress Relief FIR heat therapy has a relaxing effect on the body’s motor neurological and circulatory systems that become overworked during times of stress. Also studies show increased energy levels in chronic fatigue patients during and after FIR sauna therapy.
Disease and Prevention
There are many reported cases of remission or symptomatic relief when FIR heat therapy is used in the treatment of diseases. Regular use of FIR provides an easy, relaxing and luxurious way for people recovering from illness, or for those who are already fit and well, to deal with the inevitable stresses and toxicity of modern living.
Chiropractors and Physiotherapists and Far Infra Red Heat Therapy Many chiropractors and physiotherapists in Australia and overseas now use FIR to promote muscle, bone and sports injury recovery, alleviate back and neck pain, reducing tension headaches and eliminating performance inhibiting toxic burdens from the body. FIR works very well with all tactile therapies as it warms up the muscles and the tissues are oxygenated before working on them. A physiotherapist would have the benefit of the joints being more flexible before exercising them.
Treatment: 30 minutes
